Mentorship

Mentor code of conduct

Every WorldLink HR Academy mentor agrees to this code when they apply. Some mentees are young first year students, so keeping them safe comes first.

Last updated 2 November 2026

1. Be professional and respectful

Treat every mentee with respect, whatever their background, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability or age. Never discriminate, harass, bully or belittle.

Turn up on time to the calls you book, and give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to move one.

2. Keep mentees safe

Keep the relationship professional. No romantic or sexual relationship with a mentee, and no comments or messages that could reasonably make a mentee uncomfortable.

Meet through the Academy's video calls, or in a public or workplace setting for in-person mentoring. Never meet a mentee alone at a private home.

Don't ask a mentee for money, gifts, favours or personal information you don't need. Mentoring fees, where they apply, are paid only through the Academy.

If a mentee tells you something that suggests they or someone else is at risk of harm, tell the Academy straight away.

3. Respect privacy

What a mentee shares with you stays between you, unless they agree otherwise or someone's safety is at risk. Don't share their details, CV or messages with anyone else.

Don't record calls or share screenshots without the mentee's permission.

4. Give honest, practical guidance

Share what you know and be honest about what you don't. Don't promise jobs, admissions or results you can't deliver, and don't ask a mentee to work for you unpaid.

5. If something goes wrong

Mentees and mentors can raise any concern with the Academy at worldlinkhr779@gmail.com. We take every report seriously. Breaking this code can lead to a mentor being suspended or removed.
